Mission

It is our mission to promote and support innovative, effective, and sustainable teaching practices and learning environments throughout the district by providing superior, enterprise class technology services and support to faculty, administrators, staff, and students in a friendly, timely, and cost-effective manner.

News

May 7, 2009: Thank you to Monster for donating 35 recessed monitor computer desks. Twenty one went to replace the center row of desks in the High School computer labs of Room 106 and Room 109 to give the students a better view to the front of the room and fourteen are being used by teachers in their classrooms. We would like to thank Lew Karabotsos, Chelle Melander, Mary Pattison, Jim McCarthy, Steve Stramaglia, Peter DiCicco, Jeff Mela, and the entire Maynard Schools tech crew for their commitment to the schools and hard work that made this possible.

February 26, 2009: Thank you to the Beacon Villager for their front page story in today's paper about the wireless installation at the Fowler Middle School.

February 21, 2009: Thank you to the volunteers of the Technology Advisory Committee for the successful installation of 24 access points at the Fowler Middle School.

The Maynard Schools wish to extend a big "Thank you" to resident Aaron S. Thompson for coordinating a donation of over 35 wireless access points allowing us to complete the Green Meadow wireless network ahead of schedule and begin planning for the Middle School's wireless network.

Notices

The volunteers of the Technology Advisory Committee represent Maynard's broad range of technology and educational experience and expertise. We meet once a month to discuss, plan, and implement strategies for advancing our mission. Please email the Technology Coordinator if you wish to be notified of upcoming meetings.

Donations

Thank you for being interested in donations. We are always looking to improve our technology assets through grants, donations, and other alternative means. For details and complete instructions, please see the donation guidelines.

  • We are happy to accept donations of 17" and larger computer monitors that are capable of displaying a clear, accurately colored image at a resolution of 1024x768 with a refresh rate of at least 75Hz and a 16bit color depth. By donating your unused computer monitor to the schools, everybody saves. You save the disposal fee and the school saves the cost of buying a replacement. Please send an email to donations@maynard.k12.ma.us to schedule a drop-off.

  • Due to the high cost of maintaining non-standard computers in our managed environment we generally do not accept donations of single computers, instead we prefer to receive organizational donations of 10 or more identical computers.

  • We are always in need of enterprise class server and networking equipment such as fast and gigabit managed Ethernet switches, high performance servers, and managed storage arrays. Please contact Jon Green, the Technology Coordinator, at 978-897-6424 if you have any leads on this type of equipment.

You may also want to download the equipment donation form and the software transfer form.

Calendar

For the 2009-2010 school year, the committee is meeting on the 4th Wednesday of each month with adjustments for holidays and other conflicts. Please contact Jon Green for details of the next meeting.
